The NHA will be adding "green" value to the 17th Annual Hydrogen Conference through a number of initiatives.

To begin with, we'll be purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to offset the electricity usage during out time at the Long Beach Convention Center. A REC represents the environmental attributes—for example, avoided CO2 emissions—that are created when electricity is generated using renewable resources instead of using fossil fuel sources such as coal, oil, and natural gas.

In addition, recycling repositories will be placed throughout the meeting venues for recycling paper, bottles and cans.

The NHA will also be choosing food for receptions that comply with sustainable fishing and farming practices. We'll also be practicing and encouraging water conservation at the hotel and at the Convention Center.

The option to purchase renewable energy credits (RECs) will be given to attendees to offset pollutants from miles flown or driven to attend the conference in Long Beach. These RECs are certified through the Green-E renewable electricity certification program.
